That's the original XP1 strakes, not the AMK which was tested on IPA7, comprising ewfined LEX, delta strakes and enlarged flaperons.
Yes, I said proto AMK as the report goes into some of the reasons for those changes.

Weren't there plans for the T3 Typhoons to have a fuel-tank in its' tail-fin so that the space currently occupied by a belly fuel-tank could be repurposed to have a weapons-bay instead?

And get it while its hot off the press, Italy has signed for 24 x Eurofighter Typhoons to replace their Tranche 1 airframes

Italy has signed a contract for up to 24 Eurofighter Typhoon jets, following last week’s Spanish order for 25 aircraft.
This milestone marks another significant step in the Eurofighter programme and the modernisation of European air defence.
✈️

The new Typhoons will replace Italy’s Tranche 1 jets, ensuring their Air Force continues to benefit from the latest technology and cutting-edge operational capabilities.
Giancarlo Mezzanatto, CEO of Eurofighter, commented:
“During the past seven days, we have seen two of the four Eurofighter Core Nations sign new contract orders, with a clear desire to modernise their Air Forces and confirming the crucial role they attribute to our aircraft.”
Together, these contracts reinforce Eurofighter’s position as Europe’s largest defence programme, ensuring advanced capabilities and long-term security for partner nations.

It's been a fantastic week for the Eurofighter consortium but it's still a bit early for a deal with Turkey. Even the negotiations for the F-16 package deal haven't been concluded yet.

I reckon they're currently close to or even at formal negotiations stage but expect it to take a year until we get to the signing ceremony stage.

Edit: This guy said it best:

DA7 as in Development Aircraft 7? If that's the case this is one of the Typhoon prototypes from the late 1990s, its' avionics are out of date.
There are a DA7 and Tranche 1 Avonics manual that have been online since the mid 2000s. I’m not sure if it’s them though.

I think it was just the DA7 manual?
Most of WT leaks were just documents available online, which just happens to look too technical for dumb layman for it to not be a "confidential document" in their opinion. There were only very few actual leaks, such as that of Challenger, but this time, it was again just a nothingburger.

Same news but directly from Spain, sadly in Spanish

Eurofighter is a good fighter, good for Italy and Spain

Update on both points from Gareth Jennings...

2 of the 24 are 2 seaters and radar is now unclear...would have thought with a 2029 delivery date it would have had its choice of any of the radars...

Radar integration requires more than just the radar itself! ECRS Mk1 & 2 integration is slated for P4E. If P4E isn't ready in time, than the Italians can delay or opt for an earlier standard, with associated consequences in the long term. A decision needs to be made in a timely manner as there are various interdependencies.

Not quite. ECRS.Mk 1 integration is part of P3EB and P3EC. ECRS.Mk 2 sits outside the Phase Enhancements, having slipped from P3EC.

When Eurofighter & NETMA signed for up to 24 new Italian Air Force Eurofighters on 23 December, we complained that: “The announcement lacked any detail as to the breakdown of single & two-seaters."Now we can reveal the numbers!

Italy and Poland to develop a new wingman for the Eurofighter Typhoon (For AMI and very likely Polish AF if the deal goes through).

That's only true for the Mk1 Step 0, which is a Mk0 with new TRMs and that's it. The Step 1 with new multi-channel receiver is slated for P4E like Mk2, not least due to the new CRI and TBM. The former is a prerequisite for the later to keep all radar variants going. Mk1 Step 0 is essentially the P3Ec Step 1 contract, it adds the Mk1 Step 0 to the fournational P3Eb2 basline, which differs in a number of ways from the P3Eb1 for Kuwait and its derivate for Qatar.

Oops! Somebody must have not tightened the screws on tight enough for the pod and pylon to fall off the Typhoon during the flight.

That's not what EF GmbH are saying. Step 0 is in P3EB, Step 1 in P3EC.

They have flown the ATRA with its new nose (probably empty!)

That's probably because they permanently rename, rebrand everything and eventually loose track of what they are doing themselves. P3Eb1 for Kuwait includes Mk0, P3Eb2 for Core Nations only M-Scan. There are differences between these packages P3Eb1 and 2. P3Ec Step 1 is P3Eb2 plus ECRS Mk1 Step 0 (originally supposed to be ECRS Mk0 in the RfQ...). Qualification on top of the P3Eb2 baseline for the Core Nations (actually only Spain and Germany) is the only content of P3Ec Step 1, producing some additional PSCs. The fancy new/additional stuff comes with Steps 2 & 3, but even that has been changed and descoped several times.

Not good that the Typhoon lost it's canopy due to a bird strike, I am just glad that the pilot managed to get back to base without further incident.
