Drone AWACS?Managing drone swarms sounds all cool until you have to deconflict them.
More likely swarm-control algorithms that can talk to each other.Drone AWACS?

Cope Cages were always a temporary measure till you get a top-attack-capable APS.The israelis appear to have given up on cope cages and come up with a redesigned trophy aps instead

This might be some help against top attack missiles like the almas or bomber type FPVs,but against kamikaze type FPVs I have my doubts.
I'm not surprised, I believed that this was always going to occur, at least as a last line of defence should jamming fail. This might be some help against top attack missiles like the almas or bomber type FPVs,but against kamikaze type FPVs I have my doubts.
While several emerging technologies aim to counter the threat posed by drone swarms, one of the most practical solutions is already in service... using advanced guidance to engage drones with existing weapon systems.
I see that recoilless shotguns on drones are now a thing..Something along the lines of tiny rockets (literally bottle-rocket sized) or some kind of small-calibre recoilless shotgun or rifle that could be carried and used against enemy drones might give rise to the first "fighter drones" The use of nets or grapple hooks might even catch on this time, or some sort of laser blinding or electronic interference.
The parallel to ww1 is striking.. first observation, of actual trenches, no less.. Then bombing, then air-to-air. The fragility of these small drones seems to mirror the wood & doped fabric of early aircraft, stricly speaking, composites are usually fabric in a resin matrix.. Interesting times indeed.

So long as it only takes out the right drones...That would be very impressive if successfully implemented and the perfect place to test it out would be in Ukraine.
Can I get one to test on the idiots doing bass-offs on the streets around midnight? See if I can toast their car stereos? Please?View: https://x.com/AirPowerNEW1/status/1876587649676501239"We’re going to take down 100 drones at once, all in a single blast" ~ Andy Lowery, CEO of Epirus
