One of my hobbies is collecting waterline ship models in 1/1250 or 1/1200 scales covering the Cold War era.
I have been trying to find the composition of USN units on the Yankee and Dixie Stations off Vietnam and Gonzo station in the Arabian Sea.
Does anyone know a source?

Between 1945 and 1990 the UK's only source of potential foreign invasion was the Soviet Union. Whereas Germany's Sealion plans of 1940 are the subject of numerous books and wargames, there is little or nothing about Soviet plans for Britain in the event of a war.

Just published. The first volume is dedicated to European operators.
An interesting page dealing with the potential C-130 production by Sud-Aviation in France in the sixties.
The author, Xavier Capy, is well known for his previous books on Noratlas and Transall.

I've always wondered about how the Perm D-30F6 turbofan is able to power the MiG-31 to Mach 2.83, when it appeared to be a relatively conventional adaptation of the D-30 commercial turbofan family.

Trying to figure out which countries could actually handle the cost of light fleet carriers in 1946-60, so do we have any actual data at what prices the Colossus and Majestic class ships were sold by Britain in 1946-60? And for that matter how much their modernization with angled fight decks and...

I was able to aquire this fantastic wind tunnel model / model of the CT41.
It has a scale size of 1:10 (the original size was 9,79m / model size is 96cm)
My question to all of you (as being much more experienced in this cases) is, if you think it is a real wind tunnel model or "just" a...

Improved engines and aerodynamics?

The three Tiger class cruisers arouse strong opinions.
As the only major non-carrier RN warships built after WW2 they mark the transition of the RN from a force built round its battleships' big guns to a missile dominated navy.
The 6" and 3" guns fitted to them were supposed to be a new approach...
