It's interesting that there are two organisations competing for Turkey's naval point defence system, though I think Roketsan will secure the contract because of their more advanced seeker solution and made for purpose system. Compared to Aselsan's adaptation of Goksur AA missile and single seeker - VLS is a nice addition however.

The Gökdemir 100 system can operate with 8 missiles ready to fire at a range of 20 km and an altitude of 10 km using existing RF-guided Gökdoğan AA missiles. Thanks to its own command control, it can work in integration with existing radar systems and the Siper air defense system.

Work Begins on Serial Production of GÜRZ Air Defence System | TURDEF

ASELSAN CEO Ahmet Akyol stated that the work for the GÜRZ hybrid air defence system’s serial production began in 2024 in his 2024 summary of developments.

Did someone from Tübitak gave a reason why they are using liquid fuel for the Gökhan ramjet and not solid one (like most of the competition, besides perhaps India).

Is it just for the speed control advantage?
My best guess is, they have the intention to follow US/S.Korea/Japan in the Hypersonic cruise missile business (Hydrogen fuel+Scramjet like X-51A) and use this missile as a stepping stone to get familiar with the challenges.

ASELSAN's GÖZDE Guidance kit is Turkey's first Guidance kit to hit a target moving at high speed.
Developed jointly with TÜBİTAK SAGE, the GÖZDE guidance kit converts 500 lb. MK-82 general purpose bomb into ANS/KKS and Laser Seeker Head (LAB) guided munitions, enabling accurate and very cost-effective engagement of fixed and very fast moving targets without using specialized munitions.

In Turkey, there are various Guidance Kit for MK general-purpose bombs
  • GÖZDE is best for high-speed moving targets (e.g., vehicles, boats).
  • TEBER is a versatile option for both fixed and moving targets, offering good maneuverability.
  • HGK is optimal for stationary targets, similar to JDAM.
  • LGK is ideal for moving targets, but it lacks GPS.
  • KGK is suited for long-range attacks on fixed targets, optimal for stationary.

ASELSAN has successfully conducted a live-fire test within the scope of GÖKTAN project, marking a significant milestone in precision strike capabilities. Previously designed for air-to-ground missions, TOLUN guided munition has now been adapted for ground-to-ground engagements for the first time. The successful test demonstrated ASELSAN’s expertise in developing advanced strike solutions for next-generation battlefield requirements.

In this groundbreaking test, TOLUN was integrated with a rocket engine, allowing it to achieve Mach 1.02 speed, ascend to 49,880 feet, and cover 17.9 km. At 54 seconds, the munition successfully separated from DELTA-V rocket, deployed its folding wings, and entered its guided flight mode before striking its target with pinpoint accuracy. This achievement highlights GÖKTAN’s capability to deliver precision strikes on high-value targets while maintaining operational flexibility.

Developed under ASELSAN’s leadership in collaboration with DELTA-V, GÖKTAN system enhances precision engagement through integrated command-and-control and fire control systems, enabling mission planning and optimized firing sequences. This test validated the adaptation of TOLUN to a ground-launched configuration, expanding its operational flexibility and demonstrating its capability for long-range strikes.

GÖKTAN is designed to provide platform-independent strike capabilities, ensuring the neutralization of critical targets without requiring platform maneuvering. It supports 360-degree firing capability, waypoint-defined targeting, independent and centralized operation modes, multi-target engagement, and sequential firing, making it highly effective in dynamic combat environments. Yes, it has propulsion system like SM-39 capsule, unlike SM-39 however Roketsan's capsule has navigation ability aswell, allowing it to dive, cruise certain distance, navigate to waypoints before surfacing and launching ATAMCA.
Roketsan shared some information of the capsule some time back.
