I see that they're watching the war in the north closely... But it's still a bit weird to see a company that produces large and capable UAVs to get into the small drone/loitering munition/cruise missile business...

The Bozdoğan-DH missile, an advanced version of the Bozdoğan air-to-air missile, is currently undergoing testing as part of its integration into the Göksur Close-In Weapon System (CIWS). This system is being developed for the Turkish Naval Forces (TNF) through a collaboration between Aselsan and TÜBİTAK SAGE, two leading Turkish defense organizations. The recent canister exit velocity tests, conducted at the Ankara wind tunnel (ART) center, mark a significant step in the development process.

Competitor for the above point defence missile development headed by Roketsan, Levent. Levent is navalised and extended ranged variant of the SUNGUR MANPAD. The same launch platform is interoperable with SUNGUR MANPAD, load up can be a mixture of SUNGUR and LEVENT missiles.

Levent 11km range and weighing in at around 70kg

"The GÖKDEMİR Launch System, developed by ASELSAN, successfully conducted a firing test of the GÖKDOĞAN-YH missile, which was developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE, in June 2022. The video shows the missile performing well even in its early development stage, demonstrating a stable flight, fast trajectory, and successful target engagement. The GÖKDEMİR system is designed for air and missile defense against various threats like fighter jets, UAVs, cruise missiles, and helicopters. It features rapid deployment, 360-degree engagement capability, multi-target tracking, and a short preparation time. Each vehicle carries eight GÖKDOĞAN-YH missiles, expected to be effective at a range of over 35 km."

A lot of footage is being released of recent on Turkey's air defence missiles, HISAR-O range increased to 40km (previously 25km) range with it's IIR seeker (Looks like a radome, however it's a sleeve which prevents IIR dome from heating due to friction with the air, the sleeve is dispensed during mid-flight/target engagement range) . HISAR series of anti air missiles is equipped with dual-pulse rocket motor, reduced signature launch stage and sustainer which kicks in mid-flight visible in the footage.

This thread would better fit in "Secret Missile, Bomb and Gun Projects".

My understanding is that kemankes was inspired by the early war tb2 use against targets in Russia, when they were quite good at getting to targets and attacking them, but then were shot down literally every time.
Tb2/mam-l is kinda expensive to be a single-use cruise missile, but adding such a missile to the tb2 makes it perfectly viable.

AFAIR there is currently no active development going on but they're working on the necessary technologies in case they decide to develop one.

As a reference I've attached below the current pieces of the puzzle in case y'all want to see.

Also, is there a Turkish Space Agency thread?

DeltaV has adapted their hybrid sounding-rocket engines for military use.

Maybe a few things will come out that could be useful to us.

  • cost effective SRBM/MRBM
  • MNCRA like North Korea's huge KN-25
  • Aeroballistic missiles such as Kh-22 / Kh-47

The first launching tests of the ramjet-propelled long-range air-to-air missile GÖKHAN, which is under development under the Prime Contractorship of TÜBİTAK SAGE, are expected to be carried out in 2025. However, in order to see the real performance of GÖKHAN, the MURAD AESA Nose Radar, which has a long detection range capability, must also be ready. Because the AN/APG-68 series radars on F-16s will be insufficient in terms of performance for a missile like GÖKHAN. GÖKHAN, which is announced to be able to reach speeds close to Mach 5, will feature the ASELSAN product AGRAS-200AA Active RF Seeker Head.

During an interview, the CEO of Kale has revealed that they have a production capacity of 500 TJ engines per year.

Translated from Turkish by Google

Kale has a production capacity of 500 TJ engines per year. With the current capacity, we can say that 500 SOM, Atmaca and Çakır missiles are delivered per year.

As well has having dual mode IIR+Passive RF seeker, Levent PDMS also has two protrusions behind the control fins for passive RF facing rear in order prevent salvo launches from mistaking missile ahead as a target.

- I believe RIM-116 also has similar feature, with it's prongs

Missile launch 26s into this video may be CENK MRBM with assumed range beyond 1000km, however the missile in the clip appears to not have any control surfaces ?
Doesn't need any to act as a booster, most ICBMs don't. It suggests an independent RV, and it will be that RV which steers.

ASSAN Will Produce 360 Thousand Ammunition Annually and ASTECH Introduced Its New Smart Ammunition Family!

At the SAHA EXPO 2024 Fair, ASSAN Group Defense Industries Inc. General Manager Gürcan Okumuş made important statements to Defense Turk in an interview. Okumuş stated that ASSAN will start producing 360 thousand artillery ammunition annually. In addition, ASTECH, a subsidiary of ASSAN, exhibited the GÖKKURT Smart Ammunition (GAM) family for the first time. The GAM Alpha, GAM Beta and GAM Delta models stand out with their lightweight and compact structures, modular seeker and warhead options, high precision strike capability and low collateral damage features. Thanks to the man-in-the-loop capability, the course of the ammunition can be followed in real time and interventions can be made when necessary.
