This is hilariously funny...

You may have heard of this:

But there's also this:

They have no luck there, TBH.

If their target was Musk, then they could ask, indeed, he could not return from an orbital flight: just don't desorbit the Starship, ever.

Unfortunately for them, Bezos flight is firmly suborbital to a maximum of Mach 4 - when it takes a Mach 27 to hit orbit and stay there.

So they are doomed: Bezos is bound to fall back to Earth after barely 15 minutes. They have no choice.

As per Forbes, Jeffrey Preston Bezos is worth around $200 billion. Theoretically, if he was able to instantly get his hands on this money, he’d easily be able to afford the Mona Lisa (while he's at it, he’d also be able to buy Salvator Mundi to use as a dinner table, wipe his mouth with a Jackson Pollock, and use Damien Hirst's diamond bedazzled human skull as a footrest. He could then get a ride home from the meal in his own James Webb Space Telescope while listening to Martin Shrekli's infamous one-a-of-kind Wu-Tang Clan album).

What the frack did I just red ??

It just dawned on me like an evidence reading the Rafale and F-35 threads.

And since I didn't wanted to pollute this threads, this very thread come as an evidence, too.

And thus, BEHOLD:

Lockheed executives have just learned the Swiss government has prefered the F-35 to the Rafale.

Their reaction:

"Off we go into The Land Of Chocolate" !

In passing, Homer voracity perfectly fits Lockheed apetite when selling the F-35 across the world.

I first came to know that meme (poor old Samuel Johnston, really - he must spin in his grave) at AH.com.
Back then it was a fixed picture.
Then to my delight I found some crazy individual had made an animated GIF out of it. I laughed so hard I nearly fell from my chair. It remains my all time favorite one (with Belle & Gaston, notably the attached one, which is just brilliant)

Note that that was a five-day "music festival" with something like 20,000 people. That many people packed in that small an unimproved space for nearly a week... 48 arrests makes it sound like the peace-lovingest assembly of law and order types to ever gather to listen to some tunes. Contrast to two people shot, 20 injured at a rap concert with probably at most a few hundred attendees for just a few hours.

Color me stunned that a "redneck rave" included a dude getting impaled on a tree while riding an ATV and doing some sort of stunt that probably started off with a statement along the lines of "hold my beer and watch this."

Crazy unexpected things happen everywhere...

Never quite understood how Spiderman breath, ate, talked and drank with that silly mask.
Batman was clever and only covered his eyes, not his entire face.

But you can get a crate of Russian surplus Mig-29s for cheap. (They were cheaper before the Biden-induced run on them.)

Unfortunately due to ATF regulations, importing assault planes is often difficult. And of course California and Massachussetts and New York pretty much ban them outright, and here in Illinois you need a Fighterplane Owners ID card.

Be careful. Scammers are everywhere. Sometimes you think you ordered a bunch of cheap Su-27s only to find just a lot of Rafales in the box.

Indeed. Be *especially* leery of ordering your nuclear weapons from Wish.com. Often enough the plutonium pits have been replaced with cadmium-based cat food.

Either that or cat sushi, likely to be ten or twenty years past sell by date. Having said that, most of our 'C' rations were dated 1940, even into the mid 80's.

I could probably get 20 MiG-21s for a can of 62gr.

Oh, dear.

That's meant as a joke, but I've seen on the road, mainly in the London area, but also elsewhere, pickups and vans equipped with generators and the necessary equipment, operating as charging vehicles for electric cars that have run out of power on the road . . .

cheers,
Robin.
