Introduce Yourself

I was happy to find this group, as there is nothing similar and as active in the US.
Well, it's pretty international. When I registered the site 19 years ago I lived in the UK, but for the last 15 years I've lived in New Zealand, and the US is the biggest user demographic.

I got to do a walk around of the Canadian Air Force NORAD CF-18 with the F-16 Viper Demo Team, and also worked on the F-22s that shot down the balloons. I’ve also walked around the F-16XL. “Walk around” as in on-duty on the flight line inspection.
Well Anthony, it's impressive and I wish the best for you

Old retired guy living in the mountains of North Carolina. In previous lives I was a contracting officer for the US Air Force, an executive at a defense consulting/IT firm, and an independent trader/investor. Programs I worked on in Air Force days include the Pave Spike target designator, F-4 FMS sales for Turkey, Greece, and Iran, F-111 weapon system improvement program, ASPA source selection, ATB full scale development, and various simulator programs.

Thanks for the welcome! Let me know what you're interested in, and I'll make something up.

I'm trying to build a Ju-288 ... I do it with my idea because this plane was never build in series. I imagine it was egined with BMW801D of the last Ju-290 more simple to do than Jumo 222 ... and more pretty ! All is made of foam, white foam board, paper kaft and capuccino packaging and old calendars ... ;)

Hey, I'm Adam (but go mostly by Mac online) and I am 23 from Scotland, UK. I am very interested in military aviation and all kinds of military topics, as well as being a historian. I came here as this forum offered some information on an aircraft I was looking up, the FB-111G and I was quite impressed with the community which goes all the way back to when I was just 4!

Greetings. I'm Chris Manson (but mostly go by CJManson online), I'm 32 from Southern California. My interest in military aviation sprang from an old Discovery Channel series titled, Hunters in the Sky, and further heightened by the Xbox 360 video games Blazing Angels, Blazing Angels 2, and Ace Combat 6.

I studied aviation history at Mount San Antonio College, and am also (currently) a docent at the Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, California.

Good morning, good afternoon and good night, I come from china. Maybe in this forum is an incredible ip, My English is not very good, so please bear with my grammatical mistakes. In the beginning, I came here because I wanted to exchange different views and understandings about our new aircraft, And I am also interested in military and aircraft, However, in reading some articles, I found that most of the things discussed in this forum are too professional, and even there are many practitioners, Therefore, my aim now becomes to communicate with you all the misunderstandings and wrong impressions about my country. I'm only a college student, so my opinions may not be persuasive, and I'm using translation software to help me speak, So I might have a problem with my presentation. But I'm really looking forward to making new friends, and what do you think about our military and our weapons, thank you

Hello everyone, I am a college student from China, to be honest, I have been browsing this website for a while, this post is very good, and I also recommend it to other people who like the military. There are a lot of things that military fans are interested in, of course, a little ashamed, as a young person, I don't know much, but I still hope to be part of this big family. Thank you:)

Hello, i'm a 20-year-old university student in Chile studying videogame design and development. One of my main interests is of course military aviation, ever since I have memory I have liked fighter aircraft. I remember playing F-16 Multirole Fighter in my dad's PC when I was maybe 5-6 years old. Wasn't a good pilot at the time!

Either way, I had ran into these forums many times over the last years and always found so interesting what I read here. Every time I enter I learn something new. So I decided to create an account after all.

I should say though that I don't think I will post stuff at all. I don't know a lot about planes when compared to what I see here, so maybe I'll just quietly read and learn from you over time

Hello, people. I’m a student in Moscow Aviation Institute, studying jet-engine design. I have been reader of this forum for a while, but now decided to register. I’m looking forward to communicating here, as this is more western-inclined forum, with many discussions about NATO weapons, assets and fighter jets in which I’m interested.

Hello Forum,my name is Shirley and apart from general curiosity I have a specific narrow interest in tanks, specifically the early stages of the development of the WWII Canadian Ram and the US Sherman. I found the forum through a search for William Sheehan of General Steel Castings Corporation. The entry is old (2011) and I would be interested in connecting with anyone still interested in pursuing this topic.

Hi team! Name is Mo, live in Long Beach CA. I am currently working projects in Hospitality design industry (4+ star hotel interiors & furnishings.) Come from an upbringing rich in culture surrounding US combat aviation, production & history. Hometown and early life revolved around Edwards AFB & March AFB. The legendary AF Flight Test Center, the X-15 & Century Series fighters of course are a major hometown pride.

I am predominately focused on cold war aviation history, doctrine & politics surrounding aircraft design & the strategic application of platforms of the US & USSR/RuF. I am primarily interested in Soviet perspective these days of the Brezhnev era & post Dissolution. oh & I am also very interested in Chinese design & later generation approach to the Air Dominance domain of the 5th & 6th generation.

Hello everyone.

I'm a 50+ year old guy from the Netherlands who's been interested in spaceflight since the late 1970s. Currently I'm working two different daytime jobs in the Dutch IT industry. In addition I'm a volunteer at the Aviodrome aerospace museum at Lelystad Airport in the Netherlands. Specifically for the spaceflight section which is maintained and managed by the Nationaal Ruimtevaart Museum (NRM - Dutch national spaceflight museum).
I have visited this forum several times in the past few years while doing online research for the NRM online photographic archive. Most recently today, when I needed information on the Dassault Aviation "Star H" vehicle, after completing digitizing a print of the artist's impression of that vehicle.
The only credible information found via Google led me, once again, back to the Secret Projects forum. So, I've bitten the bullet and decided to join this wonderful place. My username might be familiar to those of you who also frequent at the NSF forums: I'm over there as well, in the same disguise.

Best regards,
woods170

Bonus image attached: the artist's impression of the "Star H" vehicle I mentioned. It was released as a PR image in 1989 by Dassault Aviation.

I am the owner and first moderator of this site. My name is Paul Martell-Mead, I am 32, and live in London, England. I work in IT, but I am very interested in military aviation technology and have built up a large database of knowledge on this subject. I post as "overscan" or "aerospacetech" on various aviation forums.

I recently got married in New Zealand and plan to move there eventually with my New Zealand wife, Vanessa.

Hello Forum! Aidan J here. Pilot, ex-BNSF conductor and artist.

Live in the big sky area, used to fly Beechcraft twins in Helena, where we had the Lockheed Warning Star No. 52-3417 Aka Big Lizzie. I have had a long love of aviation and also steam locomotives. NEVER COULD get rid of that itch I suppose. I now live near the end of runway 20 right below the flight path of everyone going in and out and have taken up photography in my pastime (like my dad did professionally).

Here are some photos of what I have got over the past few decades. I have a YT channel, and Deviantart!.

Cheers mates!

Hello everyone,

Hi
I’m Angelika, a 40-year-old space enthusiast. I have a 14-year-old son who’s just as passionate about space, thanks in part to me and our love for the Terraforming Mars board game :) Originally from Ukraine, we’ve been living in New Zealand for the past nine years. My professional area is software and AI, but space tech is calling to me as well! ‍

I discovered this forum through the Plasma Magnetic Sail topic, which a couple of my friends and I are currently discussing as a potentially groundbreaking technology.

Thanks for having me here! Looking forward to connecting and learning with everyone.

Hello all.
I'm Joe. I'm 24, and for the last two-plus years, I have delved deep into the design, development, and more of historical Cold War aircraft including F-4 Phantoms.

I've been researching their history and design, and trying to modernize them to my style and principles.
Mostly, keeping the looks and feel of the legacy they have, while giving them a new lease on life with upgraded systems, avionics, engines, materials, and slightly improved looks.

The crown jewel of the "JoeSpeed Modernization Project" is my F-4X "Super Phantom," which I came up with a couple of years ago for a book I wrote.
I've been working on its design in both Blender, by 3D modeling it; and FlyOut, a game in which anyone can create their dream aircraft, helicopter, car, and more. I'm a self-taught 3D modeler (with a little help from my friends,) but my style and design flow are unique to only me. I've also looked into aircraft that were conceptual, such as the F-20 Tigershark and X-29, but my real bread and butter is Phantoms.

Hope to see you around,
Cheers!

-Joe
