XFY-1 and XFV-1 competition

What the hell, these were in there too. XB-36 engine nacelle mockup model, notice guys holding up black background and hand-prints all over the props! Full size engine test stand, must have made a hell of a racket.

Don't tell me that,Bell and Ryan didn't involve in this competition !.

Great photos - thanks for sharing. Have friend who recently delved into the vents and other external ports of the B-36 nacelle and spinner and the annular gap of the spinner/trailing edge of the nacelle - a complex method of moving air thru the nacelle and spinner for sure...
