I get the feeling that longer term that this will be the more commercially successful arm of the operation compared to the human flights.

All aboard! Next stop space...
Several hundred people have already booked their tickets and begun training for a spectacular voyage: a few minutes, or perhaps days, in the weightlessness of space.news.yahoo.com
Space is too good not to share. Our proof is in the incredible views of Earth aboard #Unity21.

That’s a lot of investment to recoup for the small satellite market.

Virgin Orbit suddenly has a viable rocket, so what comes next?

What gets me is the initial investment is ten times what Space X & Rocket Lab spent to enter the market. That’s a lot of investment to recoup for the small satellite market.

They have had a lot of enquiries and reckon the business will support a fleet of launcher aircraft, even at premium prices. That's a lot of market worth investing in.
But yes, it does remain to be seen in the longer term whether the operational flexibility of air launch will justify the cost penalty of horizontal launch orientation.

Billionaire Branson set to fly to space aboard Virgin Galactic rocket plane

US town eyes tourism boost after Branson's Virgin Galactic launch
Truth or Consequences has seen visitor numbers dry up with its drought. Now it hopes for a lifeline from the space tourism industrynews.trust.org
The two operations are at the same location aren't they ?I wish Branson could have worked with Pau Allen on Stratolaunch. Spaceship 3 could be all liquid.
Yeah about that.. So the FAA has approved of this design, it can carry passangers? So, how many passenger flights per year?
apogee was 86.2 km or 13.8 km short of the Kármán line, but to quote John Glenn in Friendship 7 "Oh, that view is tremendous"
N202VG is registered as an experimental aircraft (glider) with the FAA. As far as I am aware you can not sale seats in an experimental category aircraft (i.e. can not be used for commercial purposes). I wonder how they have gotten around this little problem if they sell tickets. I think they got around the first flight by flying all employees of Virgin Galactic. Possibly the training is $250,000 and the flight is free!
