Merriman's Submarine Modelling Masterclass

Guy local bought this sharp model at an estate sale. What is pictured is all he got. Found it on marketplace yesterday. Have been waiting to get into this area of hobby. What can you tell me about this kit. Talking with Bob M as he printed the rear section for his Alfa. What do you guys see? He is asking $500. I think it is a bit bight with all the missing parts and age of the driver.

It's a sellers' market. That hull kit is worth whatever you're willing to pay for it. Keep in mind, r/c submarines are not an entry-level activity -- you gotta be a good model builder, mechanic, and patient. Oh... and smart too. Smart.

I was almost expecting a whole new tube instead of attempting to repair that crack. (As much non-fun as that would be)

Things were headed in that direction, Scott. But, in total frustration (yeah, that little crack, right over the ballast tank bulkhead O-ring seal!) I settled on this localized fix. And, damn, it worked!

Romel recommended using UV activated resin next time. Good tip, I'll try that on the next encountered crack-from-hells-heart.
