Looks interesting so far. Lot's of neat U-2 footage, I've never seen before.
Interviews with actual people that seemed to work there.
One was a T.D. Barnes a "Hypersonic Flight Specialist", or so it is claimed.

Would be more impressed with some previously unseen Have Blue, Tacit Blue or Bird of Prey footage. I'll be somewhat disappointed if this is all 1950s-60s stuff.

he made interviews with eyewitnesses who work there in 1960s and 1970s
and uncovered the role of Mossad in recover soviet MIG and there test in Area 51

allot of Soviet Radar system were transpored to Area 51 and tested
after a while because boredom, technicians start to test all kinds of stuff with those Radar.

...During my hospital stays over the past couple of months, I had quite a bit of time to watch what we've come to call the "Hitler Channel". The good point is that they've dropped a *LOT* of the WWII content. The catastrophic point is that they've replaced them with garbage shows about ice truckers, junk dealers, and even gave that unfunny inbred "Larry the Cable Guy" his own show to make fun of everything from a POV that belongs more on one of the Turner networks than it does the History Channel. In fact, I'm thinking about calling it the Hysterectomy Channel because it's about as unfunny and unentertaining.

RED HATS would make an excellent all-access documentary but foreign material exploitation never goes out of fashion so we'll never see that :(

It's what happens when the general American populous thinks 'Who gives a **** about History?'. So in order to stay afloat, they make stupid shows like IRT & Only in America with Larry.

The 'junk shows' though are pretty interesting, Pawn Stars more than American Pickers IMO. Can't wait til Pawn Stars airs that episode where they buy an Israeli AIM-120 in june!

But back on topic, when will that Area 51 special that has a companion book suppose to air? Or have I missed it?

I'm not anticipating anything earth-shattering, but I'm hoping that the book will be at least as revealing as the AZORIAN book (and companion documentary) by Norman Polmar and Michael White. The book did a very good job of dispelling many of the myths that have been perpetuated for almost 40 years about that operation, and also did well to honor the individuals involved. I never expected to see actual film from that operation, and I never thought that pictures of the K129 on the seafloor would ever be released. I'm hopeful that we just might get at least a peek on someof the previously unknown flight test projects from the 70s, and just maybe the 80s. The curtain has been pulled back just a bit on projects like Senior Prom, Senior Peg/ATA-B, and XST.
 
I'm willing to bet we will mostly be treated to footage on the Red Hats and the YF-*** MiGs, and stuff like Have Blue and Tacit Blue in flight, that sort of thing. Perhaps a few models of projects. Nothing earth-shattering. :-\

But of course, I keep hope there may be a glimps of the YF-113G and a couple more unknown prototypes... ;)
 
I certain hope so; Steve Davies covered CONSTANT PEG pretty comprehensively in Red Eagles, so I'm assuming that they aren't going to focus primarily on that aspect.

Whether nuclear tests (credible) or fake Soviet UFOs (preposterous) the documentary to be aired on May 22nd doesn't sound like it's going to tell us a lot about so-called "black" projects. If Jacobsen was gullible enough to believe such a goofy story, or if she thinks the general public will go for it, then the book is probably a load of crap. Now I still don't know to what extent the book and the documentary are connected. What she claims in the book may not be "government sanctioned", contrary to the documentary.

Please excuse my break from decorum, but this Annie Jacobsen person is so full of crap the toilets of New Orleans immediately post-Katrina would be jealous. That 'Terrorz in teh sky!!11' bit of hysterics reveals her to be a fear-based hatemonger, as well. This A51 nuclear conspiracy is in the worst tradition of all the Black Helicopters and New World Order bullpucky I heard growing up in the 90s. I have zero use for offal such as hers!

Actually, it may all be "government sanctioned." Attend:
Let's say you are Da Gubmint. People have been pestering you forever to release Da Truth about Area 51. "Fine," you say to yourself. "But... let's screw with our enemies at the same time." So you release Da Truth. Along with a heapin' helpin' of Utter Bilge.

Release fact and fiction at the same time, in the same way, through the same source, to the same credulius recipient. Recipient will then go on to publish both fact and fiction. The facts are now out there... but in a way that they are now self-invalidating.
