CiTrus90's 3D Drawings of Unbuilt Aircraft

You are of course correct that the other 3D artist here have superb talent and I in no way meant to lessen their brilliance. I only mean to point out that your work does exactly what you set out to do, give concept aircraft that we may only know as three view drawnings, substance.

Regarding the I-19. It would have been a tough day for recognition if the I-19 and the FW-190 had joined battle!

Yep, i noticed that too ;) From certain angles and at distance they would have looked remarkably similar.

Some renders of a new aircraft, the CAC CA-31.

Ah my dream ship! A very much younger Yasotay actually got to sit in the BAT as a young aviator. Somewhere there is a picture of the affair. I watched the XV-15 zoom around and thought "The future is going to be sooo cool!" ... Ah well.
The shark mouth is mandatory!

Thanks for the great pictures.

I'm still waiting for time-travelling DeLoreans...indeed, the future was really cool, back in the days.

Back to the aircrafts.

Greetings CiTrus90, you wanted to make a request if you can to assist in the preparation of a render for the project Sniper, who kindly got on the subject's friend Richard N, who want to make a controlled same radius model, I'm going to work doing the same profiles using the images provided by the subject of cutaways.
thanks in advance, Motocar

More great pictures CiTrus and two personal favourites of mine: the CA-31 and the Avro Canada TS-140. How did you know? ;)

But if you don't mind nitpicking I can point out a mistake in each model.

The CA-31 was designed as a weapons trainer and didn't have a large nose radome but rather two 30mm Aden guns in the nose. These were mounted similar to the 20mm guns in the F-5 Tiger firing over the nose Red Baron synchronised guns style. The guns were even in the twin seater not just the single seater COIN model.

The Avro offer for the USN's TS-140 requirement was a VTOL aircraft but the engine pods were fixed to the end of the wings. They did not rotate. Rather they each had a jet deflection mechanism about 2/3s down the pod behind two doors. For VTOL flight the doors opened, a flapper dropped down into the exhaust and the vertical nozzle was used for exhaust. Each nozzle could move up to 15 degrees in any direction. See attached images.

I can only thank CiTrus90 for the prompt response to my request made a few days ago, I for one am almost ready with first profiles and retouching Sniper Sky Sky Sniper cutaway uploaded by friend Richard N and its application on drawings and renders these profiles. Again grateful for their excellent work.

Motocar

P.D. If allowed me I would like to use render their work to accompany the cutaway to touch and then I'm doing for the thread

Another amazing set of 3d drawings,thanks alot Citrus for sharing these beauties.

@Everyone

Thanks for the kind words!

@Gubler

Thanks for the pics of the Avro VTOL arrangement, they'll be most useful! Regarding the CA-31 guns, are you sure about that? I've never seen any reference suggesting that, and instead i found that it was meant to carry external gunpods ???

No problem, feel free to do so ;)

The source on the front guns for CA-31 is Uncle Les (of course) who supplied the world the three views of the plane. The radome nose is an invention of a Flight artist. Gun pods were probably suggested for the later fast trainer concepts when CAC was partnered with the British and working on a VG aircraft (AA-107).

A couple from Germany (no, not luft '46 designs...).

how do the flaps work on the F-4, wouldn't the rear engine nacelles need to be joined to the wing differently?

Fantastic models BTW

GOOD GOLLY!!!

Only happened on this topic today. For some reason I hadn't seen it before... I'm not just thrilled by the beauty of these renders, but also by your most exquisite choices of unbuilt types. Keep up the excellent work, pleeeeeease!!

Sorry for the long hiatus, but i've been working on some illustrations for Steve Pace's new book on the Lockheed Skunk Works ;)

And now that i'm back to being unemployed (yayyyy!! no, wait...that's a bad thing) i can resume my mission of representing some of the aircrafts that were never meant to be.

Starting with Northrop's NATF proposal:
