Interesting update on the H-20 and while this sketch should not be overrated - most likely and quite commonly for such a secret project in China it is more a placeholder - the description says that "it's a new control surfaces configuration for all-wing large aircraft that is used on an "next - generation aircraft".

Inlets are massive. Even if you imagine that as a tandem seater, you could hold large fan into them. I am not sure that it is legit as a Bomber design. Probably a repurposed sketch of something else.

That design is clearly not a tandem seat design and the inlets don't look that big for an aircraft with four engines, two on each side. I make no claims about it's veracity.

H-20 is obviously using one of these planforms.
New sketch is a fanart BS.

Agreed and sorry if my post was not clear enough esp. since the original Tweet is misleading:

Here's Huitong's reply:

I used that drawing to replace an old CG drawing which was two years old. The assumption is that the new drawing is a little bit more "real" than the old one. BTW the text above the drawing was apparently from a (recent?) news script, not from a paper.

... even if I must admit that IMO its wing geometry looks rather amateurish in mind of other images we know.

So it's settled. It's only placeholder art for illustration, probably not related to the real thing in any form.

Was not addressed to you by any means but to stop meaningless discussion about this sketch.

"Military sources said the Xian H-20 supersonic stealth bomber – expected to double the country’s strike range – could make its first public appearance at this year’s
Zhubei Airshow in November "

So the new Chinese Stealth bomber is going to be supersonic, I last thought that all flying wing stealth bombers were supposed to be subsonic, Or am I missing something?

They could easily make a supersonic stealthy bomber but it would probably not have as much range and it would be more expensive.

Any takers that it might just be an Su-34 clone?

If the idea is that the bomber might actually appear at the Airshow, than that's silly. At best, China might intentionally leak images of the prototype taxiing or some such, to coincide with the timing of the Airshow. Though, even that it sort of pointless; why conflate the commercial airshow with a geopolitical statement?

The likelihood of the H-20 images surfacing before year's end is, however, decent. Certainly, if not this year, I'd expect them next year.
My money is on B-2/B-21 layout, perhaps closer in size to B-21 than B-2.

Anything supersonic would be another project, for sure. A JH-7 successor, if it materializes at all.

I'm guessing they will release pics right after the reveal of the B-21, for maximum propaganda effect.

It's entirely plausible that the US has a squadron of classified LO tactical bombers in inventory that China is aware of and may be seeking to mimic. Where the H-20 fulfills their strategic bomber need, the JH-XX (likely based off of the FB-23 ) will fill their tactical bomber need.

Certainly interesting times, as deceptive and secretive as China is, I wouldn't put it past them to troll the US with rolling out conceptual platforms for aircraft that have never been officially declassified by the USG. I think a few examples of that may have taken place already.

Honestly, we all know the SCMP as unreliable and Minnie Chan as the epitome of stupidity and unreliability in China news reports. as such to think the PLAAF might unveil a stratigic bomber at Zhuhai is just as stupid as claims from last year prior to the 70th anniversary parade, the PLAAF might unveil the H-20 during the parade!:rolleyes:

And again some stupid US media do exactly what they always do when they read China alone...

So much talk about “clones” if China goes with a supersonic stealth bomber but has everyone forgotten that we already have several images of a design mock-up for a supersonic stealth bomber from SAC with some evidence that the design has at least been studied? If they do end up developing a supersonic stealth fighter their own indigenous design is probably a lot further along than any FB-23 or FB-22 that never went past proposal phase or a B-21 that doesn’t yet exist.

Why do you think its fake ?

Just in return: Why should it be real? From all we know the H-20 won't be a B-2-copy. It will be very much different in geometry and therefore:

Come on ! Do you think an exact B-2-look alike bomber of that size would have passed silently, stealthy without a much bigger hype and media coverage?
It's one thing to hide a small UCAV but not a bomber of that size at Xi'an in a very densely populated area.from all I know this is a video taken in the US and modified with some Chinese sounding (not even sure if it is Chinese?). Even in reliable Chinese forums it was dismissed as faked.

Oh well ... semantics was never my topic! ;)

This is not 'faked video' per se, this is just B-2 flyover labelled as 'H-20 Stealth Bomber'.
Trucco grandioso!
BTW was my first idea) Only doubt was that B-2 footage should be relatively limited and thus such impersonation seemed a bit too brave. Oh well...

@Deino : Can you post the side view also? (I am on a mobile and each screenprint comes with a large play button on the center).
