It would drive the cost sky high and ensure it never got built. And 90% of the targets wouldn't require it anyway. The US is even retiring it's best cruise missiles (the stealthy AGM-129) rather than convert them to conventional. Not sure why. Only thing I can come up with is the idea of...

Hi,
When I got a variants to Beoing C-135, I think it was not interesting, but when I read it I find many variants were little known.

I have seen some info on Boeing's contender for the requirement eventually met by the Convair B58. It seems to be a much more conventional design similar to the Russian TU16 with swept wing and embedded engines. Anyone got any pictures or drawings?
If someone happy to have hi-res version of these North American Rockwell PR drawings (NA-73-400, Rev 9-83), I would be very obliged for sharing them with me. Thank you.

Just wondering if anyone knows what the tested maximum altitude and speed of the A-12/SR71 was?
I contacted the USAF recently and they simply stuck to the published figures saying it flew at 85,000ft and could reach Mach 3.3. This doesn't seem to make sense as variants of the F-4, F-104 and...

Browsing in the NASA technical reports I found a score of wind-tunnel tests regarding a supersonic cruise bomber that seems linked to some unknown B-70 follow on specification from late '50s (report is from 1961). Some photographic reproductions of the models are practically unviewable, but...
I'm looking for information about a little-publicized US program in the mid-to-late 1980s for an intercontinental cruise missile. It was intended to have a 6000 nm range, Lockheed, Boeing, and General Dynamics were the candidate contractors, and three designs (subsonic, supersonic, and...
I asked on the warships1 board whether the USAF had looked at a tanker version of the DC-8 in case there were problems with the KC135 and got a reply back saying that Lockheed had proposed a jet tanker that was apparently the favourite at one time.
The USAF bought the KC-135 purely as a...

I woul like to know something about the kinfish proposal for a strategic recon aircraft (in the competition won by the lockheed a-12) and about the super hustler design.
Unfortunately the only information i foud are in Russian (quite strange for united states secret projects)...
Numerous methods of deploying the Peacekeeper were investigated and I wish somebody had all the details. Here's a few things I turned up:

According to Vaclav Němeček in his book “Civilní letadla 2” the drawing gives an impression of a DC-10 variant, but he didn’t mention a D-… number. Is anyone able to supplement the designation?
