If its really going to be called F-47, why not call it 'Thunderbolt' (An obvious homage to the WW2 P-47 Thunderbolt, which I think
was used in the Pacific campaign - and anyway the NGAD will also be used in a pacific campaign again - against the Chicoms.
If that F-47 is an upscaled bird of prey - I am just surprised how come Sukhoi notional 6-th gen fighter placeholder also seems
to be based on the 'bird-of-prey' planform. Coincidence - or not?

Surprised it wasn't called the F-47 - Golden Eagle, can't help but to think Trump had a hand in that designation.

Possible the most bizarre article I’ve ever seen to announce an advanced aircraft even by the standards of The Sun. It’s also the top tending news on Apple News. Which is not something you expect for a fighter aircraft. I cannot see the US putting this up for export as they didn’t with the F-22.

Wonder when they will announce the F/A-XX program award since they have announced the F-47.

Trump said the fleet would be built in the next "couple of years" and revealed that production is already underway.

He said the plane has "secretly been flying for almost five years," and will rule the skies with "many drones, as many as we want."

Thrilled Donald Trump honoured with second state visit as King’s signed note sparks White House love-in with Starmer
"Our allies are calling constantly, they want to buy them all," he said.

According to Hegseth, the project will establish "the next generation of air dominance."

He listed all of the fighter jets flown by the US military before saying, "Now we have the F-47, which sends a very direct clear message to our allies that we aren't going anywhere."

Can’t help noticing the way the shadows on the flag move upwards as though hiding tails, though that could be just misdirection, or shadows cast by the wings

Lol beat me to it ! Good catch. Quoting from TWZ
The aircraft has received the Mission Design Series designation F-47, for reasons that aren’t entirely clear. F-47 was previously used for the World War II-era P-47 Thunderbolt after the designation system was revised in 1947. It may simply be a happy coincidence that Trump is the 47th U.S. president.

Yeah those are obviously canards… In fact I think the wings in the other photo are hidden by the cloud or condensate. What’s visible are the canards.
whats confusing me is what is this? I thought it was some form of LERX before but the other image does not show one either. Im starting to think these may just be more concept art rather than representative of the real thing. Or maybe one is a concept and one is real. 1742578624024.png

i wondering
Some information say that prototype is flying since 5 years.
can it be this is F-47 ?

The "F-47" has not been flying for "5 years", the demonstrator has been flying for more than 5 years.

The aircraft shown in that image does not actually resemble the object that was photographed. This image was modified. Other photographs of that object are very different.
