In my opinion, European leaders see the war in Ukraine as an opportunity to do good business without considering the possibility of being too involved in it because of an unexpected change in the situation. I believe that instead of selling the F-16s they should start an urgent modernization program with updated engines and electronics. In the mid-thirties the Polish government sold its PZL 24C and G fighters to Greece and Turkey and delayed the construction of the PZL 50 to finance the PZL 38 strategic fighter. When the Germans arrived, the Polish air force only had the outdated PZL 7 and 11. In 1939 the governments of France and Great Britain decided to suspend the export of fighters, Poland never received the MS 406 promised by the French government and only received one Hurricane, Lithuania never received the thirteen MS 406, Estonia never received the twelve Spitfires it had paid for at the price of gold and Latvia never received its thirty Hurricanes. Then the bear came and ate them. The British government sent too many Hurricanes to France that it then needed during the Battle of Britain. Is no one going to take into account the lessons of history?

While I agree, trying to get the parties to agree on anything seems to be impossible.

It will probably take a full on shooting war with China to fix that.

Or the "American Empire" is already doomed.

Speculations about the Ministry of Defense not fulfilling its obligations and "strikes" on the rear units of the PMC "Wagner" do not stand up to criticism.

The BBC has read out an English translation of Prigozhin's audio message he posted to Telegram, in which he announces the halt of the march on Moscow.

"They wanted to disband the Wagner. On the 23rd of June, we went out on a 'Justice March'," Prigozhin says.
"Within a day we were just 200km away from Moscow. During that time, we did not spill a single drop of blood of our fighters."
"Now is moment has come when blood can be spilled. Therefore, understanding all the responsibility for the fact that Russian blood will be spilled on one of the sides, we are turning our columns around and leaving in the opposite direction, to our field camps, according to the plan."

I'm reading now that a deal has been struck, Shoigu and/or Gerasimov to resign, in exchange Prigozhin and his people to get amnesty and focus on mostly external jobs. So if Shoigu/Gerasimov are replaced or resign in the next period, we'll know what this was about.
