Yes. No vertical Takeoffs and landings here. Notice that both pilots are wearing ventral parachutes.

Sounds like a candidate for Shark Tank for sure...I have an idea and I'm looking for investors. The concept is an amazing breakthrough. Energy is stored in carbon nanotubes and propulsion is provided by flagella. At a micro scale, flagella are more efficient that blades and while their small size may seem like a limitation, many thousands acting in concert could provide feasible lift for a couple of passengers. Moreover, the technology is simple and modular, allowing large matrices of lift units to be produced relatively simply. Massive integration would ensure redundancy. A 3-D printing technique similar to weaving would be used due to the thread-like nature of all the components, allowing made-to measure manufacturing and customization (such as colourful patterns etc.).
The eVTOL would strongly resemble a carpet...

HUGE SCOOP from @elanhead and myself. The FAA is dramatically revising its approach to certifying electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, injecting new uncertainty into the certification programs of the United States’ leading eVTOL developers. https://t.co/BGk5pXQXSi

Here are some more details about @theaircurrent’s #eVTOL scoop for those of you who haven’t made it behind the paywall yet. Two key points: 1) This is not about safety, and 2) Yes, the FAA is serious about this. 🧵 https://t.co/P0c8xi1L5S

If you don't mind a little bit of more fun look here:I used to follow this thread for interesting technology. Nowadays, it's more for when a laugh is needed....
Pipipistrel has had an Italian plant in Savogna D ‘Isonzo Italy for years, it builds most of their export-market aircraft. He's talking about spreading production of the aircraft in the article there .Pipipistrel manufacturing site to be moved in Italy?! How so? Where? Did I read it right?!
Beta is on my list as most likely to succeed.![]()
An electric aircraft just completed a journey of 1,403 miles
Made by Beta Technologies, the aircraft is called Alia. The electric flying machine stopped seven times during its multi-day journey westward.www.popsci.com
Even though the flight was conducted as a conventional aircraft with no transition to vertical flight, it's still an impressive achievement nontheless.
