Hi Everyone!

Here's some information on a VSTOL transport design, the Vanguard Omniplane Model 30.

All I've been able to find is a three-view and one other illustration, but if anyone can find other information such as Tech Data please post it on this website. Thanks!

Chuck

Hi hesham!

Thanks very much for the information. Actually that's where I originally got my information, however I guess I should have been a bit more specific when I was asking for Tech Data on this aircraft, as I was thinking more the dimensions of the aircraft.

Thanks again for taking time and making the effort for researching this information for me.

Chuck

Here's another 3-view (and an artist's impression) with some
dimensional data
(from :Vertical Take-off and Landing <VTOL> Aircraft, (Series of papers ... of
a conference held on Dec. 10-12, 1962) ; Consulting ed.: I. B. Laskowitz )

Hi Jemiba!

Thank you so much for the information on the aircraft's dimensions!
You hit the jackpot!

Chuck

A direct development of the Omniplane design, the Vanguard Model 18 was meant as a 36-40 passenger short haul transport powered by two Allison T56 turbines.

I can add from AIAA,

- Model-6 was a high performance observation STOL aircraft project, powered
by General Electric T-58 shaft turbine engines, designed to meet High Performance STOL mission requirement as defined by military specification TS-145 (circa 1960),
maybe based on Model-2.
- Model-7 was a military configuration of Model-2 ,powered by two Allison T-61 turbine engines, the project was intended as required for VTOL Troop/Transport
Cargo mission - circa 1960.
- Model-9 was a high performance VTOL project,for surveillance mission,had
an Est. speed of 380 mph
- Model-12 was an ASW flying boat VTOL project, with crew of four and gross
weight of 26.000 Ibs
- Model-16 was a two-seat STOL or VTOL aircraft project intended for long-
range rescue mission, crew of two and capable of picking up four people while in hover,it meets Army requirement (circa 1960) for VTOL and STOL
- Model-20 was a high-speed fighter. Features tip driven main rotors in the
wings and deflectors in the turbine exhaust for pitch and yaw control in
