Ehh, I'd expect better from the US than to stick an off the shelf PCB in a carbon fiber tube. Where's the vaunted US technological supremacy?
Just thinking, a really cheap AI UCAV that can go round hunting and killing drones might be useful.
It is a missile...Just thinking, a really cheap AI UCAV that can go round hunting and killing drones might be useful. Something really basic, small, no stealth and just enough radar to find drones and target them.
Nah, in my idea the drone shoots down the other drone, maybe with a gun, maybe with a Hellfire, JAGM or APKWS.It is a missile...

- Integration of Firestorm's Tempest UAS into the AFWERX Prime Proving Ground, where it will serve as a versatile testbed for advanced autonomy, sensor payload experimentation, and robust communication architectures.
- Targeted Research and Development supporting critical Air Force programs, including Adaptive Air Enterprise (A2E), to further enhance swarm capabilities and air-launched effects.
- Development of interoperable robotic platforms to introduce complexity and unpredictability into adversarial planning processes while reducing operational risk for U.S. forces
Source: Air & Space Forces, March-April 2024“Speed Racer” is one of Lockheed Martin’s modular, uncrewed aircraft ideas, shown here in concept artwork flying with an Air Force F-35. The ghostly outline suggests a decoy mission. It was developed under what the company says is a $100 million investment in “Project Carrera,” a suite of manned-unmanned teaming technologies.
