If that painting had been debunked before, I don't know where on the forum it would be. A casual search brought up no other references.

Allow me to play Captain Obvious here, but that is a strange leading edge flap deployment, and an odd positioning of the elevons. It looks like it would be on the ground shortly, just not in the way the pilot would have intended.

That flap looks like some seen on assorted aircraft in the British Secret Projects books. I believe the idea is to produce a stable vortex aft of the flap in which the airflow rides over the top of. In effect, it creates a REALLY thick leading edge.

Have we found this piece of artwork before and could not substantiate the seller's claims?
What the problem with it? Mike Casad was in-house Boeing artist for decades

The artwork looks as it is from the 1990s HSCT program. Both blended wings and vortex flaps were studied at one time or another.

Lufthansa have Pacific Miniatures
models of the swing wing and delta
Boeing SSTs in their museum collection

https://www.flickr.com/photos/axel_j/25529336701

Notice that the model makers got the
livery wrong on the delta, the lettering
belongs to an earlier scheme.
The BA Museum has a BOAC swing
wing model which can be just seen
behind a Concorde in their Museum.

I cannot find the original on
the BA Heritage Centre site
but here is a screenshot.
You have to look past the Concorde
to see the Boeing SST swing wing
behind.

BOAC and Air France had options on
the Boeing as well as Concorde.
Naturally their publicity material
concentrated on Concorde.
This is a Boeing artwork for Air France
which only appeared on the web and
never in AF ads or brochures. A similar
painting for BOAC is not held by the BA
Museum.

received an early painting of the 2707 300
delta.
I am sure earlier versions and models are out
there, so I will probably be back
