Rumours that Kizilelma will take to the skies before the year is out seem plausible

The question is, was this hop an unexpected "maiden flight" during a high-speed taxi test or was this indeed the first flight?

We can see Selçuk Bayraktar pulling the aircraft up, don't think this was unexpected nor wanted to really fly it, Baykar shared this test as: "Low altitude take off and landing test"

Is there any information on how long it takes to manufacture a TB2? Is it weeks? Months? Years? Even assuming that you have all the components to hand like engine, avionics, actuators etc. I would have thought itts still a non-trivial amount of time to make the airframe, assemble and test.

What I amazed most is with the fact that it's very heavy (or the airfoil is too thin for the flight profile).

Turks should be proud this thing was put together in such an apparent short time.

Bravo*

*Congrats

PS: Trappier's infamous Plan B[lade] should probably be Plan T (although, I do have to admit...)

Japan considering TB2 Drones
---
Drones are also part of Japan's defense plans. From next fiscal year, units will test various unmanned vehicle models capable of staging attacks or performing reconnaissance. Officials are considering the Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2 and the American MQ-9 unmanned aerial drones.

"Defense Minister Hulusi Akar and the Turkish Armed Forces command visited the Baykar Technology National Technology Center, accompanied by Chief of General Staff General Yaşar Güler, Commander of the Land Forces General Musa Avsever, Commander of the Navy Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu, and Commander of the Air Force General Atilla Gülan.

They were greeted by Baykar Technology CEO Haluk Bayraktar and received information about the work, and examined the Bayraktar Kızılelma, a combat unmanned aircraft system being developed nationally by Baykar."
