The interlude/theme music you are touched by

I've been hunting (ha ha) that masterpiece for quite a long time. 1:03 : hunting horns going full bore.

Imagine being a Renaissance King returning from hunting after a few days. With a huge number of dukes and princes and dogs and horses and dead animals of every kind.
You send a signal to announce your return to the Queen and Court, and as you enter the castle triumphantly, they play this gem. Blaring trumpets thunder.

A pair of tracks with an interesting backstory. Warehouse Sound Co. was a Los Anglese audio store and in the 1974 they produced an album that was given away with the stereo equipment they sold. The same year that album was produced a singer involved in the project named David Riordan released his only LP. Rather surprisingly both albums feature many songs in common, albiet in different versions.

The first track in this post, 'Lady Grace' is the only track on the Warehouse Sound Co. album that does not appear on the David Riordan album.

The second track in this posting is the version of 'Medicine Wheel' which appeared on the David Riordan solo album.

Possibly the finest piece of English-style progressive rock to emerge from the United States, sadly it fell into the maw of the tax scam album racket and thus into obscurity... 'Somewhere Beyond The Sun'

For those interested the actual name of the band is Jasper Wrath.

Two very different takes on an American classic...

Spike Jones's satiric take which landed him in hot water when major RCA shareholder Vaughn Monroe complained to the company about the songs comments on his singing ability, most, but thankfully not all copies were censored as a result. This is the uncensored version....

This take by singer/songwriter Dennis Linde dates from 1978 and is an interpretation that sounds a few years ahead of it's time.
