Silent Running - I had forgotten he was involved with that he made that.

People always forget Trumbull's "Brainstorm." Even with all the drama involved in making it, it remains a stunning visual achievement and has damn damned interesting ideas. I'd give real money to see a restored version on a big screen as it was meant to be... it actually utilized two different aspect ratios during the movie.

He had a bunch of cameras mounted in a truck for UFOTOG...but I hope a stormchaser gets it. It will be awhile before personality downloads. I'd settle for the brain lock pistol from LOOKER.

Just when you thought it was dead...

Matt Groening (in the 1990's) and AH.com (in the 2000's) taught me all I needed to know about Richard Milhouse Nixon and his quirks.

(seriously, I grew up with the Simpsons and often wondered, why the freck Bart Simpson friend had such bizarre name, plus french pronounciation really didn't helped - milooze, that's how I heard it)
When later I learned that the "M" in Richard M. Nixon stood for... Milhouse, I nearly died of laughter.
Even with the "floating timeline", the Simpsons starting in 1988 with Milhouse aged 11 would meant he was born in 1977, only three years after Watergate. And yet his parents picked that name. WTH.)

"What a McGovern I've been". ROTFL.

Of the original Futuruma run, I loved the episode with Gloria Estefan "Conga".
Also the one with Omicron (sigh) Persei very ugly and brutish aliens wanting to cut Fry "small tail" as some kind of Aphrodisiac.

And the one where they throw a trash ball into space to repeal another ball of trash sent away in 2000.
When Pr. Farnsworth explains Uranus has been renamed to end those stupid jokes once and for all.
Now it is called "U-rectum." Wise move for sure.

"Yeah, oooh, aaah, that's how it always starts. Then later there's running, and screaming."

ROTFL. You bet "Dominion" will follow Ian Malcolm punchline once again. Except at the scale of the entire planet.

(P.S I do hope the dinosaurs roaming free ate Tea Leoni Jurassic Park III irritating character for good.)

And the last being the genesis of Traveller:The New Era. Star Vikings (hmm… sounds familiar) bringing civilization to the blasted worlds.
Well that's the later of the things, he also gave Traveller the 'Sword Worlds' as well and I'm pretty certain the shape of the Third Imperium came out of 'Ministry of Disturbance' which I don't think made the cover of Analog.

De-identified cover to one of the anthologies of the novelizations by James Blish of episodes of the original series of Star Trek...

For me, Ian Miller's artwork will always be associated with Mervyn Peake's Gormenghast trilogy, even when the artwork does not specifically represent the castle itself...
