ADATS would be coming into the fore if the Cold War continued, we might even see an early acceptance of using HEDP warheads as SAM warheads (Hellfires are becoming what is termed in GURPS as a 'Tac-Missile' or more specifically a 'multi-role missile', essentially it's a missile that can kill air and ground targets, although the GURPS version is a Ke missile, the US is using HEDP warheads instead). Then there would be a likely revival in the DIVAD program (and, let's be serious, the Sgt. York was going to be a game-changer in the 1980s by virtue of its 'must-have solid objects between the radar and the target to be in cover' design paired with 40mm HEPF rounds).

Another program that would probably won't die as it did would be the COMVAT program, using a caseless 45mm autocannon system. Hell, that autocannon might be retrofitted with prox-fuse ammunition and be used as an AA gun as well...

Then there is the US's ETC program. To give you an idea, the USN started the program to make a CIWS that can fire guided rounds to maximize kill probability on incoming sea-skimmers. This ended up being a 60mm revolving autocannon system and was apparently going to be effectively a one-for-one replacement of the Phalanx system. The US army joined in to use ETC technology to make their cannons better and produced a 120mm and a 140mm prototype (with the 140mm prototype being called 'Thumper') for testing. The testing produced some strange results due to the lack of understanding of plasma physics at the time and between that and the peace dividend, it got axed.
