It may be of interest that the various images posted above, including the detailed plans, were apparently not the final design. The final design is the second image in the very first post,the one with the deck break. The image seems to be taken from John Jeremy's book on the Cockatoo Island dockyard. If I understand it correctly the detailed plans shown in the other posts were referred to Gibbs and Cox in the US, who made significant changes including the deck break and the lattice mast. At that point the project was cancelled.
Interesting indeed, is the model presented to the RAN indicative of the G&C design?

No. I think the model was created by the RAN to show the government. The design was subsequently modified by Gibbs and Cox (I believe). If I recall correctly, the changes were due to resistance to flooding considerations. Sounds a bit like the US FREMM frigate, doesn't it?

I wonder where the plans might be. As with all things navy, it’s almost impossible to find the information I want. I wonder if they might have something in the archives but I won’t be able to go there for a while
