Oliver Hazard Perry class Frigate reactivation proposal (2017)

Er, source? AFAIK, it's two channels of fire, not four, though possibly you could guide two missiles in each channel, both at the same target.
From the linked Forecast International article

The Mk 92 fire control system forward and the STIR aft give a total of four missile guidance channels. This is fully comparable with the Charles F. Adams class missile destroyers and is substantially greater than most other non-U.S. AAW-orientated warships (the British Type 42 and French Cassard class destroyers, both comparable in size to the FFG-7, have only one or two guidance channels per ship)

Though in the same breath, the article also claims the Mk13 can fire ASROC :p

Yeah, that's not terribly accurate.

The C.F. Adams also had only two channels of fire (two SPG-51) but was much more capable than the FFGs on several grounds.

1) only the STIR on the FFGs offered comparable power/range to the SPG-51 on the DDGs. The second illuminator in the CAS ball was much smaller and less powerful, so would have significantly less range.

2) the DDGs had a 3d radar, meaning that they could cue their illuminators in both elevation and azimuth. The FFGs had only 2d radar, meaning that the illuminators had to search in elevation to acquire their targets. That's a serious limitation on rate of fire, or at least on how quickly the two could switch targets.

Now the Mk 92 did offer some other advantages -- it was probably better at dealing with seaskimmers, for starters. But the DDG-2s were probably overall better AAW platforms.

This also seems off to me. I could’ve sworn the upgraded versions only had 2.
