Northrop Grumman/Boeing E-10 (MC2A) and Other Military 767 Variants

Hi,

A new program to USAF during the 1990s was ASTT/ARD (Advanced
Surveillance and Tracking Technology/Airborne Radar demonstrator)
to develope new AWACS aircraft.
I know one contender the Boeing-767 AWACS version.

Hi,

The Northrop-Grumman/Raytheon E-10 is Multi-Platform Radar Technology
Insertion Programme (MP-RTIP) for track cruise missiles and sensitive ground
targets,The E-10 will base on Boeing-767-400ER aircraft.

Sad to say, the E-10A has been cancelled - the MP-RTIP radar may be used in an upgrade of the E-8 JSTARS, however. A smaller version of the radar is to be used in the Block 40 model of Global Hawk UAV.

Early MC2 Wedgetail Concept

E-10A MC2A (Multi-sensor Command and Control Aircraft)provides next-generation battle management capabilities based on a near-real time picture of the air and ground battlespace. E-10A utilizes advanced sensors, communications and computers connected via a common high-speed network to other aircraft, satellites, UAVs, and ships. This network will incorporate wide-band communications systems to transmit and receive unprecedented amounts of decision-quality data. E-10A will be a central node in the Air Force's Command and Control Constellation (C2C).
