New ‘Star Wars’ Trilogy in the Works From ‘X-Men’ Alum Simon Kinberg

Certain Samuel Butler in his Erewhon laid foundations for most cyberpunk and atificial inteligence stories by simply applying what was just published about evolution to the ther new sensation of the time, machines of the industrial evolution. that was in 1872. Yes, he's the Butler in "Butlerian Jihad" in Dune.

I just saw a video dissecting the connection, so I can't miss an opportunity to sound smart.

In all honesty, I wish now that they had kept with the Darth Jar-Jar plot, but Lucas made Jar-Jar such a hated character in Ep1 that it destroyed any chance of that working.

I agree. The other problem is the new crop of writers and directors, which include too many fan boys. Along with studio executive fan boys.
It's not necessarily the fanboys that are the ones causing problems.

The problem is catering to people who have no interest in the property and never will have any interest in it!

Forgive the derail, I thought the comment worth following up.

The idea was that Jar-Jar was to be the Force version of Kung-Fu's Drunken Master fighting style - but they overdid it.
