The 81st production P-80A-1-LO (44-85200) was used to create the one off experimental XP-80B. After its flight test phase was over it was parked. When the USAAF wanted to make an assault on the world speed record it decided to use the XP-80B for that purpose. After it was modified it was redesignated P-80R and dubbed "Racey." In any event I've never seen a photo of the XP-80B in its original livery. Have any of you seen one? Here's hoping... -SP
