Lockheed L-193 "Constellation II" jet airliner (1953)

If it doesn’t have the porpoise profile—it’s not a Connie.

Did anyone think of a multi-engine pod-tray to lift up with only intakes in the wing leading edge like Comet/Nimrod? Exhaust would also be separate perhaps—four jet exhaust coming out one duct to eliminate off-axis thrust due to an engine-out situation…fuel tankage perhaps in another pod.

OT—has anyone thought about rocket engines in a 707 type nacelle pod well away from the fuselage as part of a fin perhaps

Someone on the FB group Greatest Planes That Never Were shared pictures he took of what appears to be an unfamiliar Lockheed jet transport. He spotted it at an antiques market in Ontario, Canada.

I searched the forum but all I could find was a couple of patent drawings Hesham posted in the thread for Lockheed civil transports. I would have posted there but that thread is closed.

I cleaned up the guy's pics for better recognition. And here's a link to the FB post.

Was it a good idea to place the air intakes there ? above the wing trailing edge ? otherwise it looked very modern, like a larger Caravelle.
