wrong. That brings a tear to my eye.
Strange that we actually could have been on Mars already if we HADN’T invested in a tiled monstrosity—killing a perfectly serviceable HLLV. We’d never repeat that mistake…right?
I've been waiting for that since 1973, but I don't think it's going to happen with today's technology. Mars is “old fashion”, as is Yeager's attempt to break an altitude record when Mercury astronauts were already training.I still hope to live to see the first human landing on Mars, and I regret to say that my best bet at this moment is on a lunatic named Musk.
TLA? What are you redacting?Um, is there any truth to the story that if NRO or similar [REDACTED] TLA had not insisted Shuttle *HAD* to have 'hold' big enough for their spy satellites' vast optics etc, the Shuttle would have had much lower wing-loading, easier thermal protection ??
And that the ensuing delays achieving big hold meant most such [REDACTED] loads eventually went to 'expendable' launcher, trapping Shuttle design in cul-de-sac ??
