Hmmm..., that's a really 'purposeful' aeroplane......
I've noticed, that a lot of the H-D designs have twin fins and rudders, is this part of the design concept, and what is the idea behind it?

Have to look where I found it, but in other sources the HD.40/41 were just in a line with the
later HD.45, that means, with the typical Hurel-Dubois wing (http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=1381.0 ).
Maybe I was fooled by an errouneous source, will look up this evening, what it was.
A swept wing a/c probably would be nicer, than those quite ungainly things !

Of course ! AFAIK, it wasn't mentioned in the Trait d'Union about Hurel-Dubois.

Ungainly they sure were, but I miss them. They were always quite a sight to see... from a time when you could
recognize a shape in the sky. Now they all look the same or about!

Me too,, and I wouldn't call the HD.31/34 ungainly, but at least according to my sources, the HD.40/41 were either
too short, or too fat !

Had a look for the source of the HD.40/41: Small drawingns can be found in Wegg "Caravelle",
so I have some doubts about these designs with swept wings.

This design remains unknown. However, based on Hurel’s patents, it may have been an aircraft with a wingspan of 20m (65ft) and a wing area of 12 sq m, a weight of 3,000kg (6,600lb), a 500hp power output, a maximum speed of 400km/h with a 12,000m (39,300ft) ceiling, and a payload of 800kg (1,760lb). None of the machines built by Hurel-Dubois fits this description, so this is pure speculation on the author’s part.
