If hollywood flics were even close to real, we'd have lunar bases by now and sent a human expedition to Jupiter, so no, terminator movies are no yardstick whatsoever with respect to AI or any other reality.

Sorry Martin. The Terminator only requires a computer that fits in a human sized cranium. Humanoid robots already exist. Sending wave after wave of Terminators against the enemy is a dream that is strongly sought after. Aside from a power supply - and they're working on that - it is entirely technically feasible, right now.
