I saw the mockup of the Lockheed entry to replace the stinger at AUSA.
Looks like a derivative of the Javelin LWCLU but boxier, and a stinger tube (of course it's gonna be a 70mm class rocket, about the max size easily manpackable.
Didn't snap a pic though (mistake)

Raytheon saying they have completed subsystem tests on their NGSRI, Next-Generation Short-Range Interceptor, and a system flight test demonstration will take place later this year, in competition with Lockheed to replace the Stinger missile. Claiming improved target acquisition, range and lethality with its enhanced range for operation and identification of aerial targets in low visibility environments.

Are the Raytheon missile group highlighting lasers limited performance in low visibility weather/smoke and why missiles have the better operational capability ?

“The #NGSRI advanced seeker assembly demonstrated max range acquisition far exceeding Stinger in both laboratory & outdoor environments. NGSRI's flight-ready & revolutionary rocket motor demo’s the ability to extend intercept range of maneuver short-range air defense engagements”

Once again DoD/Army must rustle these programs back into a common component based modular (~70mm) missile/munition family rather than these 'government capture' babies.

I wonder if this will retain the 70mm heritage or will go to 80mm like some other MANPADS.
