The Fairchild Model-150 was General Aviation GA-43 light transport
aircraft,Model-205 and Model-231 were a variants of C-123,Model-226
was C-123B,Model-232 was STOL transport aircraft project and Model-286
was big jet airliner project;


The Model-219 was military transport aircraft project,do you have a drawing
to this project ?.

The idea was to have a kind of a heli, that could be flown into theatre
as a fixed wing aircraft. AFAIK, changing from rotor to fixed wing while
in flight wasn't envisaged, so it wasn't a real VSTOl aircraft !
The picture from Aviation Week shows it as a heli.

And now, we'll wait for Father Christmas, the kids are already quite nervous .... ;D

The STORC was (Fairchild-)Hiller's Model 1098.

The Fairchild Model 150 was not numbered in the M- series. It is from an older numbering system used by Fairchild and its Kreider-Reisner/American incarnations which included the "Pilgrim 95" (XC-31), "Pilgrim 100/-A/-B" (some to Y1C-24), "Fairchild 125" (KR-125) "Pilgrim 135" (KR-135), "Pilgrim 140" (X-140) and "Pilgrim 150" (Clark GA-43). The Clark GA-46 became the Fairchild Model 46 in the new system.

may be you are right,I think that project had a folding wings.

There was also the Model 255 COD designs proposed in 1957
and based on the C-123.The wings of this design
folded back above the fuselage..

I have a copy of the book American Secret Projects: US Airlifters 1941-1961, and there's a 3-view drawing of the M-219 design on page 124 of this book. The M-219 had a tail empennage resembling the Greek letter pi in front and rear view. The M-231 was derived from the C-123 but had the R-2800s replaced with four Allison T56 turboprops. The M-205 was a proposed C-123B version with four Wright R-3350 Duplex Cyclones while the M-206 had four Allison T56s.

- Range: 5,500 nm (10,180 km) with 20,000 lb payload; 4,000 nm (7,400 km) with 40,000 lb (18,160 kg)

The Convair submission to the SOR 182 requirement was called the Model 63.

If I were to guess, I'd suspect that engines were 4xRR Dart, by nacelle shape. Extra (doubled) power need for STOL requirement? 'tis a puzzlement.

It is tricky to gauge scale here. If (as the tailplane and inboard nacelles suggest) this airframe was FH-27 based, the engines might be Lycoming T55s (as per M-253)?

On the M-253 itself, my understanding was that all 'Turboboxcar' variants were to be C-123 derivatives. Here, we clearly have a round-sectioned (pressurized?) fuselage.
