Hi,
Maurice Henri Delanne was born in the town of Diors in France early in 1901.
He grew up in the golden age of French aviation, the age of Warman and Bleriot;
of Fonck, Guynemer and Nunguesser. He received his degree at the famed Superior
School of Aeronautical Engineering in Paris, in 1924. Having some funds of his own,
he founded his own company, the "Société Anonyme de Recherches Aeronautique."
In this era the biplane was still supreme. Surplus equipment from World War I was still
available, so Delanne decided that what was needed was a high-performance, low-
powered personal aircraft. He realized that most of the planes available at the time
were overweight for their function; as a result, they had to use huge engines, with
proportionately large fuel appetites.
Early Designs,
D I was unknown aircraft of 1929
D II was a side-by-side two-seat low-wing touring monoplane, powered by
one 70 hp Anzani engine,1929
D 20 was a three seat version of D II, equipped with 95 hp Salmson or 85-115
Cirrus engine
D ? was a patent for single seat low-wing aircraft, had a folded wing,1932
D ? was a patent for single seat tandem wing monoplane, powered
by one tractor engine,1935
*** New series was begun from 1935/36,
DL-10 C2 was a two-seat tandem wing experimental monoplane fighter,in C2
category,powered by one 860 hp Hispano-Suiza 12 Ycrs engine
DL-20 T2 was a developed version of DL-10,designed as an aerodynamic
model for a larger fighter aircraft, powered by one 180 hp Regner 6B-01 engine
DL-30 P2 was a two-seat glider,with gull wing and an aspect ratio of 15,1938
DL-40 was twin engined tandem wing transport aircraft project, intended to
carry 25-passengers and a crew of three,it had an estimated speed of 560 km/h and maximum range 1600 km
DL-50 P1 was a single seat high-performance glider project,intended in
1939,but may be for the circumstances of the war,the design ignored
DL-60 E1 was a training sailplane, designed to enable pilots to graduate from their C certificate to the more demanding D,1938
DL-70 was a transatlantic seaplane project designed to compete with the
SNCASE 200 and the Latécoère 631 under development in the late 1930s
DL-80 ? was unknown, but may it was a redesignation of DL-20 T1,as a single
seat experimental aircraft,1938
DL-90 ? was unknown, but may it was a redesignation of DL-10 C1, as a single
seat project version of DL-10 C2,1939

Projet Delanne D-300 - Minijets
In 1961, Maurice Delanne presented a project for a business jet plane (or postal transport). This new aircraft, the Delanne D-300, used the tailless biplane formula with staggered wings.
