Hi,
study of the aircraft for the basic training of Mr. Vlček from 1981. Mr. Vlček was in Aero Vodochody in the position of general designer in 1966-78. He participated in the development of the L-29 and was the chief designer of the L-39.

Hi,
study of Mr. Vlček Jr.'s attack aircraft from the early 1980s. Mr. Vlček Jr. was the son of chief designer Vlček and in Aero Vodochody he led the development of the L-19 model with the Avia M-337 engine.

Hi,
development continuity Aero L-19. The upper picture is an introductory study XL-19 from 1977 by the designer Vlček senior, the middle picture is a version of the L-19 with a piston engine Avia M-337AK from 1981 from the designer Vlček junior. The bottom picture is the final version of the L-19T with the Walter M-601 engine from 1984. The development of this version was also led by the designer Vlček junior.

Hi,
Mr. Skořepa has worked at Aero Vodochody since the 1960s as an industrial designer. He participated in the aesthetic aspect of the appearance of aircraft. He is a co-author of the design of almost all realized and unrealized projects of Aero Vodochody since the 1960s. These studies are already listed here on the forum, but I have taken the liberty of including them in this thread, although they are not Aero studies. These are hypothetical studies by Mr. Skořepa from the end of the 1970s and were published in the L + K magazine under the title Wings for the 1980s. Mr. Skořepa thus presented his vision of sports aircraft, which could take off in the then Czechoslovakia...

Hi,
a few words about the development of the Aero L-19. Several development groups worked on the project in Aero Vodochody. Under the leadership of Mr. Vlček senior and junior, the studies described above were created. Under the leadership of Mr. Mikula (former chief designer at Moravan Otrokovice, author of the Z-50 and others, who joined Aero in 1976), several developmental forms of the L-19 were also created. Initial study L-19 of Mr. Mikula from 1977 with the Lycoming engine.

Hi Sarastro,

I sent all those drawing about L-19 before,in replies # 34 & 38.

Hi Hesham,
I am very sorry for repeating the post you made, but I wanted to introduce you to the backstage of the development of the L-19 in my imperfect English and put the individual pictures into context.

Hi,
years ago in this thread Matěj published a page from a book „Aero 1919-1999 obrazová historie leteckého výrobce by Pavel Kučera". I am adding high resolution images of the Aero L-49 VTER and L-49 study from this book.

Hi Sarastro,
thx for sharing this great projects. Never seen bevore
Do you have also some technical data for the last two?
Thx again.

Aero certainly came up with several innovative and interesting designs. Its a shame they never got the opportunity to really stretch their legs and get more of these off the drawing board.

Hi Maveric,

so I would like to share with you more technical information, but the book Aero ... by Mr. Kučera does not contain any more. Years ago, I contacted Mr. Kučera if he knew any more information, but neither did he. The result of my correspondence with Mr Kučera is in this thread under number 41. We also attracted Mr Kučera to become a member of this forum, but to no avail. I also asked him if I could visit their archive in Aero, but he told me that it was almost impossible to get there ...

Hi Hesham,
I will publish all the pictures from this book that interest you here, but later, because I am away from home now and I do not have access to my archive ...

Hi Hesham,
The Aero L-9 project dates back to the early 1960s. It was to be a competition for the Zlin Z-526 and also it was to be an affordable aerobatic aircraft for aeroclubs. The first picture shows the original project by Mr. Vlček, the second is by Mr. Skořepa, corporate designer...

Hi,
One of the variants of the Aero A-159 from the late sixties.

Hi,
Aero L-270 is already mentioned in this thread (Hesham), I'm adding a few more pictures ...
At the end of the 1980s, with the political changes in the Eastern Bloc, it became clear that the production of military aircraft alone was not able to fill the production capacity of Aero Vodochody. In October 1989, a study of the L-270 aircraft was created, which was inspired by the then emerging category of large turboprop single-engine aircraft (Cessna 208 Caravan). During 1990, based on market analysis, the concept of the aircraft was radically redesigned and the project eventually crystallized into the Aero Ae 270 Ibis...
1. Original Aero L-270 study from 1989
2. Considered variants of the original concept of Aero L-270
wingspan 16,0 m, overall lenght 11,08 m, height 4,7 m, wing area 28 m^2, empty weight 1 870 kg, take off weight 3 820 kg, maximum speed 325 km/h, range 1 200-1 500 km.

Hi,
another variant of Aero L-9. The original project was in stopped in the 1960s, but further development continued at the Czech Technical University in Prague, where Mr. Vlček lectured on aerodynamics. This configuration is from the second half of the 70's.
