China rolled out a Long March 5B launcher Wednesday for a mission to prove space station launch capabilities and test a new spacecraft for deep space human spaceflight.

New capsule can carry up to 6 and be reused 10 times. It will land somewhere in northwest China.

With its propulsion and power module, the crew spacecraft measures nearly 29 feet (8.8 meters) long. It will weigh around 47,600 pounds (21.6 metric tons) fully loaded with equipment and propellant, according to the China Manned Space Engineering Office, or CMSEO.

Wonder what the anomaly was and more importantly what caused it? I suppose we will find out soon enough after they have analysed the data.

This still puts China ahead of ULA on the learning curve for ballute decelerators assuming ULA actually does anything regarding their reusable engine pod. A failure is worth more than a Powerpoint.

Interesting that China put a 3D printer into space and it worked, I wonder if that means that any future space station won't need to have any spare parts delivered from Earth and that the astronauts would just have to print them out.

Interesting that the new Chinese spacecraft will use a ‘skip’ re-entry manoeuvre, a lot of things can potentially go wrong during such a manoeuvre. Keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well.
