C-2 Greyhound Replacements: N-G Greyhound 21, Fokker F.28, MDD C-9 and others

even though last year the C-2A Greyhound popped into RAF Lakenheath and even London Stansted Airport when the carrier battle group was offshore I was not around to see it.

One and only time I have seen a C-2A was at Farnborough Air Show 1998 (my pics below).

cheers

Which book is this from? I saw the bottom photo but had no idea if it was real concept or a sales pitch for Fokker against the DC-9
it's a mix of sources. The B&W ones are from a Fokker sales brochure. The first color image is a Fokker ad. The Spanish pages are from an aviation magazine. The last image is an artist impression, IDK from what source. I'll check later today.

I specifically remember the color ad in an issue of the Naval Institute's Proceedings back in the early 80's.

I can't find a source for the artist impression, but it's likely another Fokker ad.
Yes, this is a real concept, made for the 1981 US Navy MMVX competition. Multi Mission Tactical Support was a program to replace the Grumman C-2 Greyhound.
Earlier in the thread you can find the brochure Fokker made for the USN, you can see they put a fair amount of work into this.
