Than Amiot 351 and their derivates was born by Amiot 340 and their derivates that was born by derivates of Amiot 143 !! :D

but E6 and E7 were not Amiot 146 and 147.

Hi Amiot 341 long range postal aircraft demonstrated at 1936 Paris air show.
Amiot 341 was a base of 370 record aircraft(first flight : 25th July 1937) and 340 bomber(first flight : 6th December 1937).

"The Amiot 340 was a three-seat twin engined bomber based on the graceful Amiot 370 racing aircraft and which was the basis for the Amiot 350 family of bombers. The entire family of aircraft was based on the Amiot 341 long range postal aircraft, which was displayed at the 1936 Paris Air Show.

Amiot built the Amiot 370 to compete in a 1937 race between New York and Paris. Although the race was cancelled, Amiot completed the aircraft, and it made its maiden flight on 25 July 1937. Powered by two 860hp Hispano-Suiza 12Yjrs/Ykrs engines, and with a very streamlined appearance, it broke a number of 2,000km speed records at the start of 1938.

Work on a military version, the Amiot 340, ran somewhat behind that on the 370, and the Amiot 340 didn't make its maiden flight until 6 December 1937. The Amiot 340 was powered by two 920hp Gnôme & Rhône 14P 14-cylinder air-cooled radial engines during its first flights, but these were soon replaced by more reliable 920hp 14N01/02 engines (paired engines rotating in opposite directions).

Official trials began at the Air Material Research Centre at Villacoublay near Paris on 21 March 1938. After these tests had ended the prototype was used on a propaganda flight, when General Joseph Vuillemin, the Chief of the Air Staff, used it to fly to Berlin in response to an invitation from General Ernst Udet.

After this flight a number of modifications requested after the official trials were made, resulting in the aircraft being redesignated as the Amiot 351 No 01(with twin vertical tail stabilizer). Amongst the changes were the addition of a fourth crewman and the use of contoured engine cowlings. The aircraft also received more powerful engines. In this form (and in a number of alternatives with different engines) the Amiot 351 was ordered into production, although very few aircraft actually reached the Armée de l'Air before the Battle of France in May-June 1940."

In my humble opinion,

I am not sure that the french bombers before and during the WW2 are well known by all the forumers of SecretProjects. Thereby, the (80-85 ?) Amiot 351 and 354 are certainly less known. And the prototypes (370, 340, 356 and the others...) are even less known.

I my case, I am interested, and sometimes very interested (in particular the movies in replies 49 and 53 and the comparison in reply 59), by these posts of Blackkite.

I think that this picture shows Amiot 150 prototype with single vertical tail stabilizer.
Upper fuselage turret shape is open type.
Perhaps directional inherent stability of this prototype was poor because of float. So I think twin vertical stabilizer was needed.

"The Amiot 110, also known as the Amiot-SECM 110, was a French prototype interceptor designed and built in 1929.
Development
The Amiot 110 was designed as a contender in the so-called "Jockey" lightweight interceptor contest, competing against nine other types. It was a braced parasol wing monoplane with an all-metal structure and metal skinned fuselage. The first prototype had a fabric covered wing, replaced by metal skinning in the second. It had fixed, conventional landing gear; the stub wing behind the gear was part of a jettisonable fuel tank.(Drop tank!! :eek:)
Operational history
It first flew in June 1928 and looked a promising candidate to win the "Jockey" contest. However it crashed on 1 July 1929, killing the pilot due to several loose rivets and integrity flaws. No further production went ahead after a second prototype was deemed inferior to the Nieuport-Delage NiD 62.

A transport project in profile form, taken from Le Trait d'Union N°154 (March-April 1994) and captioned as the "Amiot 150" (attachment #1).

Looking at the tail designation, I have a feeling it reads more like "Amiot 160"... Besides, the Amiot 150 designation was used for a real aircraft, a seaplane variant of the Amiot 143 (see attachments #2 and #3). Thoughts, anyone?

AMIOT

Published by LELA Presse, a monumental study on the Amiot 143 family, entitled "L’Amiot 143, from Amiot 140 to
Amiot 150". Written by Jérôme Ribeiro and Michel Ledet, this is book 18 in the Profiles Avions collection. Without
entering the detail of this work, some interesting points:

The Amiot 142 engine prototype Hispano-Suiza 12 Ybrs became Amiot 147 with retractable train and two-tailed
tailplane.It flew at the end of 1936 in this new configuration, then was transformed into Amiot 143 in 1938. Types 145
and 146 responded to the seaplane program of bombardment transformable into terrestrial of August 8, 1933. The
first received 14 Kdrs Gnome-Rhône engines 800 ch. and the second of Hispano-Suiza 12 Ybrs of 670 hp. The program
was abandoned and the 145 and 146 with. More Amiot 150 will respond to schedule from 1935 of the Navy.

Details on the Amiot 150M can be found in volume 3 of the review Les Ailes Françaises, devoted to floatplane.
