Perhaps because I grew up in the 60s and 70s I am a big fan of swing-wing aircraft whether built or unbuilt.
Whether it's the iconic F14 Tomcat or the unbuilt Boeing 2707 SST I am a sucker for variable geometry.
Seeing the BAC P45 in Red Arrows colours was like biting into a hot bacon roll on a cold wet English morning.
It is no accident that my icon here is the crazy US/West German AVS that led ultimately to the mighty "Fin" which kept the RAF swinging its wings till the Tornado and I got our pensions.
My love for Dassault comes not from his delta Mirages (a Fairey Delta by any other name) but the Mirage G which still looks elegant and deadly. If AFVG could have been built instead of Concorde I would have been a happy fellow.
I even have a model of the plane that might have been the F15 with VG.
