The history between the two countries, the Vietnam war, etc. There are many for whom the prospect of Vietnam receiving military aircraft from the U.S government under a Foreign Military Sales case would have been unimaginable. Many in the U.S. have loved ones who served or died in the Vietnam war, and I’m sure the same is true in Vietnam as well.

It’s definitely momentous in its own sort of way.
