The U.S. Army believes the Blackhawk is only half way through its useful life span.

I think the S-67 Blackhawk was the greatest (the UH-60 is the Black Hawk - two words, not one):

Now to mandate all pilots are also land train triple trailer truckers so they won’t break the tail off as in the bin Laden sanction.

Gimmie 60 acres and I’ll turn this chopper around…it’s the easiest way that I found….
 
It certainly was an extremely smart and elegant design - but probably at the time there was no matching mission need identified, aka a solution without a formal requirement. This is however where the USG acquisition process breaks down, and visionary solutions die. Perhaps Prince 51 would not have been lost if S-67 had been available to be used in Operation Neptune Spear...
