Various Heinkel Projects and Prototypes

Hi Jemiba,

the Heinkel He.1000 was known,and there is a book to it only, but I have not
this book.

I'm not especially speaking of the He 1000, but of all those fancy german projects
in general ! Look at other fora, there was even the discovery of an absolutely
unknown german fighter last year, which was actually built !
Or not ??? There even were photod of it ?! ;D

The Heinkel He-1000 was not an aircraft nor a design.

It was the English title for the biography of Ernst Heinkel
"Stürmisches Leben" pubished in 1956.

But it can be interesting to open a file about German projects
before the Luftwaffe became the German air arm...

Before 1933 HD was for Heinkel Doppeldecker (biplane) and HE for Heinkel Eindecker (monoplane )

I know that Richard.All German manufacturers used their own designation
system before 1933.An that makes searching projects for that period not easy since some manufacturer systems became mixed when firms were taken over..

this was a litle known design,Heinkel P.1068/01 80 project
for six turbojets heavy bomber.

Hi,

there were anther little known projects,Heinkel P.1054,P.1062,
P.1063 and P.1064.
By the way Henschel GT-1200 was a glider torpedo and was
not aircraft,Messerschmitt P.1116 was a bat wing fighter and
Heinkel P.1068/01 83 was a low wing four turbojets bomber
and Heinkel P.1068/01 84 was a different design to four
turbojets bomber with swept back wing.

do you know the Heinkel P.1066,P.1069,P.1072,P.1074
and P.1075 ?.
I discover that Messerschmitt P.1059 was redesigned as
Me.209 single seat fighter,Me P.1064 was Me.261 long
range aircraft and Heinkel P.1064 was He.219 twin engined
night fighter.

I believed P 1060 was the He 219,P 1064 being a 1943 6xBMW 801E long range bomber related to the He 274

and do you know the other projects to Heinkel (P.1054,P.1062 and P1063)? please.
a little known projects:

Dornier P.184 :was project for twin engined experimental transport.
Dornier P.202,P.208,P.215 and P.217 :were a projects for night jet fighters,
but no details.

The He 1000 was not a plane but the title in England of the auto bio(agyo)graphie of Heinkel :This poor man never heard of slave-workers in Germany,but he employed some thousand of them ...

the Heinkel He.P.1015 became He.112; He.P.1017 became He.115; He.P.1022 became He.114; He.P.1033 became He.176 and the He.P.1035 became He.100.
Other projects are the He.P.1016 ( recon ); the He.P.1012 ( mail carrier ); the He.P.1023 ( training ) and the He.P.1030 ( attack ).

my mistake: the He.P.1012 is wrong, I mean the Me.P.1012. Sorry.
The He.P.897 = H.E. 11, a race aircraft with two floats from 1928.
The He.P.994 became He.111.

I don't want to make you confuse,but in the airwarfareforum site
there is an unknown project to Heinkel,called project X, I saw a
really picture to aircraft look like that project very much in the Internet,
it was actually built,and that from two years ago,in a site consist of forums
like this,and someone suggested that it was He-180, I don't know that aircraft
and I will show you the artist picture to it from airwarfareforum.

Oh, now this discussion has reached us here !!! ;D

Yes, I think it's about one or one and a half years ago, that some photos
appeared, which produced quite a turmoil amongst the fans of german
WWII a/c. But it calmed down in the meantime and I think, with very good
reasons !
The photos show an absolutely unknown german aircraft with an unknown
configuration, but if this photos aren't a fake, I think, they don't show a real
aircraft, not even a mock-up, but maybe a kind of decoy, or something like
that. Why? We have good informations about a large number of types and
versions, which were built just in single examples. We know a vast number of
projects, which never left the drawing board. But a type, that really was built,
was left in secrecy for about 60 years ? No documents, no drawings, no memories
survived, but these three photos ? Remember, in germany (and in other countries,
too) construction and building of an aircraft wasn't a task, a company could start
completely on its own during wartime. Large piles of paper had to be produced first
to get materials, engines and manpower. And nothing of this was found after the war
anywhere ? I don't believe that ...

(Hesham, perhaps you should post the link, where you found this type. Sorry, I've still
some technical difficulties and can't find several sites ... )

Indeed.The drawing is based on the photo shown on the web.
This 'aircraft' looks like a made-up with all kind of bits and pieces
from other aircraft.

I think this Forum is not in the need for illustrations
from other sites...

I personally think: Focke-Wulf or Heinkel wanted to use up the Jumo 222 engines for fighter projects the engine was planned for Bomber B program. So the built first an engine test bed. Maybe later the would have built a prototype.
In other forums, member can identify parts of other aircrafts like He-180 (first version of He-280), He-280 (jet fighter) and He-219. Finally the project was scrapped due to major problems with the Jumo 222 engine.

Supposedly the Heinkel Projekt 1064 which eventually became the He-219 Nightfighter was originally a Kampf-Zerstörer, literally a war-destroyer but meaning a multi-role fighter, attack, reconnaissance and even torpedo aircraft. Apart from the features which were carried over to the He-219 (tandem-seat pressurised cockpit, a shoulder-high wing, and tricycle landing gear etc), it also was to have remotely-controlled defensive gun barbettes.

Does anyone have any pics, drawings etc of what this would have looked like? I'm especially interested in those features such as the defensive weapons that didn't flow onto the nightfighter.

According to Meyer, described as an Arbeitsflugzeuge (multipurpose aircraft). P 1065-01-19 and P 1065-01-20 appeared similar to the Ju-288.

Span 20.4 m, length 195 m, height 7.9 m, wing area 54 m2, take-off weight 15,500 kg. Engine may have been either 3500 hp BMW803 or 4540 hp DB619. Despite the assymetrical layout of P 1065-01-03, Richard Vogt was not involved in its design.

Found in "Fliegerkalender 2004", a drawing of the the Heinkel P.897 from 1928, intended
as participant in the Coup Schneider Race. The designation " He 11" is given, too, but still
yet, I've no other proof of it.

Yes the H.897 did exist as a project, a model was tested in the windtunnel but there was little chance that it would have been built as no suitable motor was available. Its all in my book

I think the He11 designation for the revised P.897 is an assumption, my German is not too good. The original text reads.....

Die wichtigsten Daten des Projects P 897 und der HE11 zeigt unsere Tabelle, in die wir such vergleichsweise die in der Heinkel-Werkszeitung angegebenen Daten aufgenommen haben, die aber offensichtlich falsch zu sein scheinen, wenn es nicht ein weiteres Project mit der Bezeichnung HE11 gegeben hat, wofür aber bisher keine Beweise vorliegen. Leider wird in o.a. Schreiben der Heinkel-Werke der vorgesehene Mototyp nicht genannt, den aber Kleinemeyer /5/ mit BMW VI angibt.

As I understand the text (without knowing the precise context), the table contains data for the P 897 AND He 11. The
data given in the companies own magazine for the "He 11" are included, too, but seem to be wrong, as long, as there
wasn't another project with this designation, the latter case still unproven.
So, regarding to this source, there actually was the He 11 designation used for this project, probably during its later stages !
