My .02: I can't see how this thing makes sense in terms of operating costs.
The gas turbine engine is about 30% thermally efficient while an electric motor is 95%.
OTOH Jet-A has 50 times the energetic content than a LiPo battery...
The all electric or even hybrid-electric aircraft has a long way to go in applications such as this (relatively high speed, long range, large payloads) where you need lots of energy. For short range and small payloads, this is barely beginning to be possible.
