I have an aircraft shell casing passed to me from my nan, her brothers fought in ww1, the casing is brass, 40mm bore and 87mm high marked on base with the makers mark JW&S no other mark apart from I . It has a royal air force badge added to the side of the shell. Strange as I don't know of any fliers in the family? But I think my great uncle was a rigger, involved with naval air war ?
