Hi folks,
As British readers may well know, the name of William Heath Robinson has become proverbial (at least in Britain) for his intricate drawings of absurdly over-engineered devices for outlandish jobs, (as in "That's a Heath Robinson contraption, that"). Given that his drawings are a) brilliant and b) often on comedy aviation themes, here are a few examples.
First up, the man himself: “Artist and cartoonist William Heath Robinson (1872 - 1944) painting a light aeroplane as a Chinese dragon for the British Hospitals' Air Pageants of which there will be about 200 throughout Britain.”
