Perhaps if we were to define a kill zone around a submarine, it would be possible to use its own sonar to actively guide a countermeasure onto a torpedo. Realistically, is such kill zone feasible? That is, is it feasible to consider a torpedo within 500m or any other set distance to be a guaranteed hit?


Of course, with the "set distance" being within reason and not "yeah when it's 10 meters away you're a goner".
