Why are moderators cursing at me?

And why can people say things like Fanta Fascist and get moderator likes, or post potentially libelous things like Elon has a drug problem and it's fine, but any attempt to add any context is immediately removed as off-topic?

Are moderators modeling their moderation when cursing at me? Would the cursing be less voluminous if they were not moderating their behavior? Is this the behaviour they wish me to engage in? Because I have acquired a healthy and colourful vocabulary over the years. I've even met a few sailors.

If you mean the posts in USAF/USN 6th Gen Fighters - F/A-XX, F-X, NGAD, PCA, ASFS News & Analysis topic your most recently deleted "attempt to add context" was posts about the Russia/Ukraine war. Other posts deleted earlier were overtly political and off topic for this specific topic, which is for NEWS about the US 6th Gen Fighters and analysis of said news, not your opinions on the workings of Congress or the Ukraine peace process.

Having said that moderators shouldn't swear, especially when censoring people for their own behaviour. Everyone should avoid using derogatory terms in posts when referring to anyone, famous or not. Posts that do, can be reported using the report button.

You love Trump, or you hate Trump. Elon is a genius or a dangerous lunatic. Whatever.

Everyone needs to leave their feelings at the door, and post factually using logic not emotion, about topics germane to this forum.

My heavy impression is that some political speech is being tacitly endorsed by moderation, and only if someone disagrees does the conversation suddenly become "off-topic". This has been a recurring theme.
Just saw it happen to sferrin this afternoon. His post gets deleted and the post he was responding to is left, presumably endorsed.
I could spend all afternoon tagging "these idiots running DOGE", "incompetent fascist in the Oval Office". I can start as soon as lunch time tomorrow. Thanks for letting me know how to handle it. I appreciate your prompt response today.

Mostly, moderators respond to reports submitted by users.

I don’t understand. How is any post “endorsed”? Do you mean “endorsed” by the moderators? What do you mean by “endorsed” here?

He means posts containing anti-Trump / anti-Elon sentiment are tacitly 'approved' by not being moderated, while posts containing pro-Trump or pro-Elon sentiment are edited or deleted.

I think this fundamentally misunderstands how much of the forum I and other moderators have time and interest to read.

We could have a "Political Rants" thread. Anyone who wants to rant politically can post there and can reply to comments from other threads. All legal speech would be allowed. Mods could move politically-ranty comments to that thread. I'm only half-joking.
