Advanced concepts are also under study that combine TBW with other drag-reducing techniques including the "Goldschmeid propulsor" - a propulsion system in which the engines are buried in the fuselage and fed by a annular inlet that ingests the low-velocity boundary-layer airflow over the fuselage, increasing propulsive efficiency. The inlet is apparent at rear of this TBW model, which has it wing folded.

Also note folded wing tips.

In addition to that it allows to avoid flow seperation on the rear end of the fuselage, resulting in increased pressure recovery on the rear body and hence lower pressure drag on the fuselage.
